We cleaned up the guest bed room for Aunt Sheila
so when she came she could stay in there.

Here is the guest bedroom when we were looking at the house.

Before we cleaned and fixed up the room it basically looked like this.
(This is actually the sewing room barely unpacked, but the guest room was just like this).
We wanted / needed a bed for the guest bedroom.
One day when Mama was going to the post office, she saw this sign that said
" For Sale: Queen size Sofa Bed." It was only $199,
so Mama looked at it. It was very clean and in good shape!
(Actually it was almost new and had been in someone's beach house).
Here is a picture of the sofa after we fixed up the room.
It was perfect because the sofa was blue, so it went with the room's paint color.
We decided to put orange with it. We spay painted the lamp orange and bought the shade.

We also spray painted the orange night stand; we were going to put it by the bed,
but the TV was to0 big to put on the dresser.
We had two globes and used them as decoration.
We thought that using Maps would be cool because they have orange in them,
plus we already had them and wanted to hang them up somewhere.
We found the orange ottoman at Target, on sale for $15.
We already had the chair, rug, trash can, quilt and map!
Here is a bigger pic of the room :)
Mama thought it would be cool if we kept the Statue of Liberty in there as a decoration because it matched the sofa color very well.
When we went to Jo-Anne's to look for some fabric for pillows,
we found this print. It had New York stuff on it, with the Statue of Liberty.
We thought that it went well with the whole "maps" theme!
Here are the pillows Mama made, she made the one on the rocking chair too!
$65 dollars to re-do the room, not counting the sofa :)
Don't you love it when things all come together?

Looks very nice. I can see it turning into a reading room when someone wants quiet.
The room looks great! Decorate on a dime! I like the themes!
