Summer storm
This hot weather is spawning frequent afternoon thunderstorms. I watched from the deck as this one approached while 4-5 hummingbirds whizzed around me going back and forth to the feeder. Later I'll post photos of another view.

Firday Funnies
I am starting a new blog feature: Friday Funnies. Here is the first entry.
This is from about 2 miles down the road from us. No lie.

When Matt asked someone about it, they told him the church was named after the road.

It's like "Which one came first, the church or the road?"

Which ever came first, they've been here a long time. Who knows where the "Barbecue" part came from.

It will be 64* in Bangalore on Saturday. I fwe leave now, we'll just make it.
Oh, and ps....There's a sibling group of three waiting there for a family. Gosh, I'd go for that even if it was 102*

The Weather is ....
HOT as blazes here and last night in Creston, at 12:15 am, it was 86* according to my time and temperature friend. Guess we'll have to go to India to cool off--it was only 83* in Bangalore and Pune today :~)))

Garage Project Photos--finally
The long awaited and anticipated Garage Project Pictures are here! Please be advised: none of this would have been possible without the planning and expertise of my brother-in-law, Bob. We will be grateful for this for a long time, and sent him home with some "southern vittles" in his suitcase. Not much in the way of thanks, compared to what he gave to us. Sometimes I just go into the garage and stare--it's like we were on the show "While You Were Out", except we were here. Awesome, huh?

Picture explanations
Blogger has changed the settings so that when I make a post with pictures, they are in "code" and I can't tell where each one is in relation to the rest of the post. Therefore, it is a real pain to get words and captions in the post with the pictures. Hence, this post--I will narrate the pictures.
Sponge balls were very fun here on a hot day. We cut up sponges and tied them together to make the balls.
Sponge balls+kids+water=fun!
Tae Kwon Do
The kids all tested and moved up a rank. The girls are now considered "Ranking students" and have orange belts. The boys are now gold belts and are eligible to spar. However, they are not being allowed to spar until they can show both Master Wyatt and me that they can stop hitting people at home.
That picture of my Mary shrine is showing you how Sunnie sits on top of the fence and scares away my bird friends. I thought it was funny how he was being so naughty, but sitting right there with Our Blessed Mother like he's an angel!
Haircuts
I cut Amy and Sarah's hair because it was so difficult to deal with when they swim (which translates to everyday). They have always balked at the thought of giving their hair to anyone else and therefore would not consider a Locks of Love donation. However, this time they were game and we have even received an acknowledgement card from LoL already. It was a lot of hair and boy, it has made a difference in the time it takes to brush out.
Swimming--well, that one just tells it like it is. We love our pool, even it if does look like we are hicks. We would not be able to go to a public pool very often, so this has been a great investment. Yes, we do need landscaping.
