War Songs

I used to love to listen to the war songs from the 40's. I enjoy Glen Miller music, too, so that just fits. Lately I have noticed that there are quite a few songs that refer to the war in Iraq. They are showing up in all kinds of music. Many of them make me cry whenever I hear them, but all of them make me sad for obvious reasons. I am sad because it's another era, and war songs are part of it--again. Around here they hit way too close to home, way too often.

Our neighborhood is predominately military and we have several families waiting for someone to come home. I pray for them when I hear these songs because I can't imagine how hard it is for them to hear these songs. Pray for our country.
